An alternative reality, in which we are free to discover, play and create. Ilona Rijkeboer examines the possible effect of a space to (re)create a sensation of freedom and to stimulate creative thinking. Many of her projects are collaborative processes; the works are often made of secondhand materials.

Ilona Rijkeboer (1992, Alkmaar, the Netherlands) graduated from LUCA School of Arts in Ghent, Belgium, in 2018. She attented a semester at the Edinburgh College of Arts, Scotland, as an exchange student in 2017 and participated in residencies in Belgium, Scotland and Germany (last one online). She currently works and lives in Leipzig, Germany
